Michigan Grand River Cat fishing guide.

Grand River Cat fishing charters on the Evolution. We use barb less hooks, Grand River Cat fishing is also catch and release. We promote taking photos and releasing the catfish to insure future excitement for others to enjoy. Most of these Grand River Catfish caught can be well over a 100 years old. Its important to see the giant catfish returned unharmed to continue to provide us with awsome rod bending battles, after all. Its about fun! Not Food.

Cat fishing on the Grand River neer Grand Haven and Grand Rapids Michigan is a world of its own. Our Grand River Cat Fishing charter leaves the dock at or neer 7pm and we head upstream from Lake Michigan fishing the murky waters of the Grand River for the biggest meat eater of all, The Grand River Catfish.

The Grand River Cat fishing trip goes on into the night as we fish for Cats in Mike Marsh’s favorite Catfish spots. There are few other fish that can be caught all night long like the Grand River catfish, These Grand River Catfish can and do feed all night long and catfish that feed like this are huge. Grand River catfish  can roam free in and out out Lake Michigan and can range in size from  2pnds to 200 pounds its just that simple.

You really never know whats taking the rod down until you get it close to the boat, IF you can get it to the boat. Lots of times I have watched the line go until it snaps. For those of you who are really not into the fishing on Lake Michigan but still like to get together with friends and do  a group fishing adventure, maybe this is your adventure. Its more then just the cat fishing, There is a massive untapped carp fishery here on the Grand River as well, The carp in the Grand River range from 3pounds to 150 pounds you just never know.

Catfish in the Grand River are not scavengers. Sure they will take a dead fish on the bottom but what most people who fish for cats don’t know is catfish will chase down and catch there lunch. Most catfish work together and push there prey neer the shore line and create a bait ball if you will like many of the ocean predators do. Catfish prefer live bait, craw fish, clams, minnows, bluegills, and large shiners work best. Let us worry about the casting and the bait, you get on board and enjoy yourself with friends.

You come on a Grand River cat fishing trip with us at Evolution Charters and I personally promise you will be very glad you did. I First Mate Mike Marsh,  grew up cat fishing on the Grand River,  and know every inch of  the Grand River from Grand Valley to  Grand Haven where the Grand River flows into lake Michigan like the back of my hand because of the cat fishing I have done my whole life. The best cat fishing on earth awaits you,  right here on the Grand River with Evolution Charters and your catfish guide Mike Marsh.
